Practical and surefire ideas to make someone's day

Recently, a handwritten letter from a best friends of mine during school days with whom I wasn't in contact for the last 9-10 years has made my (many) days. Why was this so surprising? In today's technology world, I expected meeting with my old friends or receive request or message from them on social networking sites like Facebook. I was really happy. Really!

Inspired by that incident, I am sharing some of my ideas to make someone's day.

There are many things that make our day. Here are some practical and not-so-hard-to-do ways to make someone's day.

Smile: Smile is universal language that everyone understands. Whenever you have something good to say about somebody and don't know how, just smile! There is saying that it takes 43 muscles to frown but only 17 to smile. So, smile is good for self and may make your day as well.

Compliment: Make compliment. But make sure that your compliment be genuine. When you see someone wearing that perfect fitting dress, approach and tell. Try to make unexpected and surprising compliments, often about small things or incidents that other person might not have thought.
